Ich bin kein Comic-Leser, werde es wohl auch nicht mehr werden, möchte aber doch eine Rezension zu dem Band "Der Magnet" schreiben. Warum? Weil ich ein begeisterter Vals-Urlauber und noch größerer Therme-Anhänger des dort ansässigen Thermalbads bin.Ich mag die Atmosphäre dieser einzigartigen Theme mit ihren klaren Linien und doch geheimnisvollen Etwas, das jeder Bereich des Bades verheißt.Und hier kommt jetzt das Comic ins Spiel. Weiß/Grau/Schwarz, Blau und Rot sind die Farben mit denen der Zeichner eine düstere Atmosphäre schafft, die einen aufsaugt. Es gibt Seiten, ganze und zu Dreiviertel, und die sind völlig schwarz. Auch das - man glaubt es kaum - schafft Atmosphäre. Durch das fehlende Grün und Gelb werden alle Darstellungen ein Stück weit der Realität entzogen. Selbst wenn die Geschichte bei Tag spielt, was sie selten tut, hat man den Eindruck von Abend oder Dämmerung. Dämmerung trifft es besser. Es ist ein Zwielicht, in das das Comic getaucht ist und in das man als Leser auch bereitwillig eintaucht. Man wird förmlich von den Bildern aufgezogen.Das alles kommt der erzählten Geschichte über die geheimnisvolle Legende, um die sich alles dreht und über die ich mich hier ausschweige, zugute.Und immer wieder taucht die Therme im Comic auf, das Innere, das Quadratische, das Rechteckige, von dem die Therme ausgezeichnet ist. Und wer einmal des Abends in der Therme gewesen ist, weiß, dass es stets wirkt, als ob sie tatsächlich ein Geheimnis berge oder als ob, wenn schon kein Geheimnis, in den Winkeln und Einlässen der großformatigen Quaderstrukturen eine Überraschung auf einen wartet.Diese Atmosphäre finde ich in dem Band hier wieder, vielleicht noch ein wenig mehr der Realität entzogen, auf alle Fälle gut getroffen.Die Geschichte wird von der Farb- und Formgestaltung getragen und bietet Atmosphäre satt.Die Personen, die auftauchen: Sie sind oft stilisiert, haben eigentlich keine charakteristischen oder wechselnde Konturen. Es passiert des Öfteren, dass von Bild zu Bilde einem dasselbe, unveränderte, Gesicht begegnet, nebeneinander - wie stillgestellt, wobei die Gesichtszüge fast schon einer Punkt, Punkt, Komma, Strich-Zeichnung entsprechen, irgendwo angesiedelt zwischen Tim (und Struppi) und Mr Spock (der schwarzen pomadigen Haare wegen). Weder das eine noch das andere, irgendwie könnte der Held ein jeder sein oder ein Niemand. Schöne Idee.Kaufempfehlung
Es gibt Graphic Novels, in denen fühlt man sich ab der ersten Seite wohl. Der Magnet ist ein solches Buch. Der Schauplatz ist die Schweiz, Berge, Schnee, der vetträumte Ort Vals - und sein berühmtes Bauwerk, die 1997 erschaffene Therme. Architekt Peter Zumthor schuf Vals einen Touristenmagnet und diese Graphic Novel setzte wiederum dem Architekten ein Denkmal. Die Geschichte erzählt von Pierre, der einem Geheimnis auf die Spur kommt, das mit der Therme verbunden ist. Der Zeichenstil - herrlich koloriert. Die Handlung - von vielen plausiblen Brüchen geleitet. Das Ende - einfach genial. Verraten wird hier nichts, aber wer sich entscheidet, die 144 Seiten zu lesen, kann ca. 90 Minuten in der legendären Therme von Vals zu Gast sein. Depuis Chryssippe en passant par une étude bien construite de la philosophie d'Epictète qui sont entre autre les sources des pensées de Marc Aurel, avec de nombreux extraits de textes, on sort de cette lecture avec une très bonne connaissance du système de pensée Stoïcien et surtout l'envie de se plonger dans les textes complets.
Une présentation des Pensées de Marc Aurèle par P. Hadot, l'un des plus grands historiens de la philosophie, aussi sensible qu'érudit.Laissons-lui la parole : "De tels exercices d'écriture [Les Pensées] conduisent donc nécessairement à des répétitions inlassables. C'est ce qui différencie radicalement les Pensées de tout autre ouvrage. Les dogmes ne sont pas des règles mathématiques reçues une fois pour toutes et appliquées mécaniquement. Ils doivent devenir en conséquence des prises de conscience, des intuitions, des émotions, des expériences morales qui ont l'intensité d'une expérience mystique, d'une vision. Mais cette intensité spirituelle et affective se dissipe très vite. Pour la réveiller, il ne suffit pas de relire ce qui a déjà été écrit. Les pages écrites sont déjà mortes. Les Pensées ne sont pas faites pour être relues. Ce qui compte, c'est de formuler à nouveau, c'est l'acte d'écrire, de se parler à soi-même, dans l'instant, dans tel instant précis, où l'on a besoin d'écrire."Un livre que l'honnête homme doit posséder en sa bibliothèque avec les Pensées bien sûr. Un bon livre qui est aussi un beau livre.
