Mit seiner Arbeit „American Born Chinese“ konnte er 2006 die Fans und Kritiker überzeugen und erhielt den American Library Association’s Printz Award sowie einen Eisner Award für "Best Graphic Album – New". Das kollaborative Projekt „The Eternal Smile“ zusammen mit Derek Kirk Kim von 2009 und die 2010 erschienene Graphic Novel „Prime Baby“ wurden ebenfalls mit dem Eisner Award ausgezeichnet.Seit 2012 arbeitet Yang zusammen mit den Avatar-Erfindern Mike DiMartino und Bryan Konietzko und dem weiblichen Künstlerstudio Gurihiru an der Fortsetzungsreihe „Avatar: Der Herr der Elemente – Das Versprechen“. Schöne gelungene Fortsetzung zu einer genialen Serie, sowohl mit Aktion als auch Witz. Ein großer Konflikt, ohne zu viel zu Spoilern geht es um die Entwicklung des südlichen Wasserstammes nach dem 100 jährigen Krieg. Wer genau wissen wie es bei den Wasserstämmen weiter geht muss Teil 3 lesen, ;)

Desc: La rhétorique est l’art de persuader par le discours. C’est aussi la théorie de cet art, créée par les Grecs et constitutive de notre humanisme. Après une longue éclipse, elle est revenue en force de nos jours, au point qu’on l’étend à l’image, au film, à la musique, à l’inconscient. Cette « introduction » se propose cinq objectifs : Une présentation du « système » rhétorique à partir de sa genèse, depuis l’Antiquité jusqu’à nos jours ; Un exposé méthodique des procédés rhétoriques, figures, arguments, types d’argumentation, etc ; Une application : la « lecture rhétorique » de textes très divers, montrant ces procédés à l’oeuvre ; Un index-glossaire. Ainsi, si l’on veut savoir ce qu’est une hyperbole ou un sophisme, on s’y reportera pour trouver ensuite dans le corps du livre des analyses et des textes contenant ces procédés ; Une philosophie de la rhétorique qui, partant du fait qu’on ne peut s’en passer, tente de montrer pourquoi.

Pour moi c'est une initiation mais quelle initiation !Ce n'est pas d'une lecture facile mais c'est passionnantA lire avec le dictionnaire de la réthorique à portée de la main

.Il aut dire d'entrée de jeu que j'ai préparé mes toutes premières classes de rhétorique, il y a presque 20 ans, en ne disposant que de la traduction (portugais du Brésil), d'ailleurs très bonne, du livre de Reboul. Cette introduction à la rhétorique c'est, à mon avis, en tant que professeur et chercheur de rhétorique à l'université , le meilleur instrument pour l'initiation à une discipline toujours très négligée au Portugal.La rigueur dans l'exposition des concepts, l'abondance des exemples qui les rendent plus engageants, la riche panoramique historique qui s'etend de la Grèce ancienne jusqu'aux renouvellements et extensions contemporaines de la rhétorique; finalement une définition de cet art qui ne privilégie l'aspect oratoire au dépens de l'aspect argumentatif , ou l'argumentatif au dépens de l'oratoire - toutes ces raisons font de ce petit livre un util précieux pour le professeur et pour les édutiants. Après sa lecture nous nous sentons préparés pour d'autres envols plus ambitieux,dont le contact direct avec les grand textes fondateurs et refondateurs de la rhétorique, comme ceux des Sophistes, d' Aristote, de Cicéron, de Quintilian,ou de Nietzsche, de Perelman, de Blumemberg,de Michel Meyer ou de Julian Jaynes,par exemple.Auprès de sa traduction, un volume très usagé et qui séffiloche, j'ai maintenant dans les rayons de ma bibliothèque, un original qui m' est très cher, toujours à la portée de ma main.
